All of a sudden the Holy Mother closed Her eyes and sat motionless, Her face lit with a blissful smile. All the devotees who were gathered around Her began meditating. A couple of minutes passed and when Mother slowly opened Her eyes She began rapturously singing.

By which Power this world had been created,
By which Power it is sustained,
By which Power does it return to the unmanifest state,
Let us offer our salutations to that Great Power...

Everyone joined Her and went into an ecstatic mood. The Holy Mother shed tears of bliss, now and then calling out, "Amma, Amma" while continuing the singing. Her poignant song and elevated spiritual mood filled the devotees' hearts with tremendous peace and tranquility. Forgetting the world around them they sang with great devotion. Singing to God is a powerful means of opening the floodgates of love for God. We should pour every fiber of our being into the singing of these songs imagining our Beloved as the words and melodies tumble from our lips. Unfurling our pure white sails of deep longing we are swept away in the cosmic winds of God's unfolding grace.
